We were founded in 1974 when following the establishment of Coopers Hill Recreational Trust (CHRT) in 1967, eight shale Tennis courts were laid. CHRT was created when local business, Foster Wheeler, relinquished control of the site as its sports ground and Englefield Green Cricket Club, St Paul’s Football Club and Staines Hard Court Tennis Club merged to make the site their home grounds.

Coopers Hill Tennis Club is a section of CHRT which is a charitable trust responsible for managing the beautiful ten-acre sports ground in Englefield Green, which as well as the Tennis Club is also currently home to Manorcroft United Football Club and Community Interest Company (CIC), who offer a gym facility and sports physiotherapy treatment.

Over the years, CHRT and the Tennis Club have invested significantly in constantly improving the Club, including the addition of floodlighting, and ensuring courts are maintained to the highest standard, which have allowed it to flourish to the well-equipped local community Club it is today. Celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2024, Coopers Hill Tennis Club has provided Tennis to Englefield Green and the surrounding communities for the last five decades. With plans afoot to further improve the Club, we have every confidence the next 50 years will be every bit as exciting and successful.
